Your Deal Training, why?

Women are the worst at negotiating for themselves

Women are not good at negotiating and therefore do not like to. This is public opinion. A recent survey says that’s not so crazy: women are lied to four times more often than men in negotiations.
Staggering is the fact that both men and women lie more often to women during negotiations. Researchers from the University of California and the University of Pennsylvania have found that this is due to the stereotype people have of women. Women are expected to be nicer and less competent than men. This makes them more gullible and less likely to find out the truth, or it is thought.

A possible reason for the differences in rewards, which cannot yet be explained, is that more men negotiated their salaries than women. When given a new job, 42% of men and only 25% of women negotiate about their salary. In addition, men ask for a raise during their career more often (37% of men and only 26% of women).

Masterclass

Your Deal

In this Masterclass we not only learn about different ways to negotiate but also practise them.

In the morning we focus on the 4 steps of the negotiating proces. Defining these steps, how to prepare for each step and how to recognise that particular stage in the negotiating proces. We will also learn about the different archetypes, taken form Greek mythology, to understand how to negotiate with these different  archetypes. What kind of goddess are you and how can you steer your own behaviour to be able to influence the other. Finally you will create your own checklist for your personal case.

In the afternoon you work on your own case and several generic cases. You practise with an training actor. He will react within his role (alm archetypes come by) and give you feedback on getting your points across. The afternoon is all about practising and learning from each other.

Learning objectives:

• When do start negotiating?

• What can I negotiate about?

• With whom am I negotiating (archetypes)?

• How can I influence the other?

• What checklist do I need?

• How much do I have to ask for?

• How can I prepare?

• What to do when given the answer ‘no’?
